Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (218 degrees Celsius).
- On both sides, season the steaks with salt and black pepper.
- In a cast iron skillet, heat 2 tablespoons olive oil over high heat until hot.
- Sear the steaks for 2 minutes on each side.
- Return the skillet to the oven and cook for another 6-8 minutes for medium-rare.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and set aside for 5 minutes to rest the steaks.
- Prepare the fries while the steaks rest.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Toss in the cut potatoes to coat evenly.
- Place the potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer.
- Bake the fries for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the steaks alongside the crisp fries.
