Carne Asada Flank Steak Tacos Recipe

These Carne Asada Flank Steak Tacos are a delicious and simple way to enjoy Mexican flavors at home. The flank steak is marinated in a zesty lime and spice mixture and grilled to perfection before being served on warm corn tortillas with fresh toppings like red onion, cilantro and avocado. Ideal for a quick and filling weeknight meal.

  • Prep Time: 40 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 50 minutes

Instructions

  • Combine the olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chilli powder, salt, and black pepper in a small mixing bowl.
  • Pour the marinade over the flank steak in a shallow dish and turn to coat.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and up to 4 hours.
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan on medium-high.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess.
  • Grill the steak for 5-7 minutes per side, or until done to preference.
  • Allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing into thin strips against the grain.
  • Warm the tortillas on the grill or in a dry skillet over medium-high heat while the steak rests.
  • Divide the sliced steak among the tortillas to make the tacos.
  • Serve with sliced red onion, cilantro and diced avocado on top.
  • Serve right away and enjoy.
